Typical price of breafast in shinjuku area

What is the price of a typical breakfast the shinjuku area?

Trying to figure out if its worth paying extra for breakfast provided by the hotel.

I have the same question for lunch and dinner as well :)

Generally speaking, you'll find meal prices less expensive outside of a hotel.

a hotel buffet might be 1,500Y, a sandwich from Family Mart/7-11 might be 400Y.

How much is your hotel charging for breakfast?

As for lunch and dinner, I would not pick the hotel when there are literally thousands of food options around.

I sometimes eat superearly biz breakfast in Western Shinjuku hotels - 2,500-3,300 per person is the range, depends on which hotel you choose. Same as or only slightly cheaper than proper lunch at hight-end hotel.

You might want to skip lunch as the food they offer for breakfast is superb and abundant (omitting meddle-level hotels, thibgs might be different there). Even both Hyatts in Shinjuku are OK although I hate the quality and choice of lunch there and stopped going.

A sandwich from convenience store for breakfast is NOT for everyone, just like the breakfast at the price I mentioned.

You might want to try bakery of boulangerie format rather than horrible chemicals-filled conbini stuff with white soft weird bread, withered salad leaves, Tohoku? canned tuna and mayonaisse, IMHO - I forgot the name if the two-stories place which is just at between pedestrian bridge and Starbucks at Shinjuku Southern Terrace.

It's relatively new and I only bought bread there to take home, but they have cafe zone and open pretty early (8am??), unsure what time exactly.

We stayed at the JR Blossom. There was a coffee shop opposite that we used.

The op needs to define "typical breakfast" better. A Buffet spread at a 5* hotel costs 4,000+yen whereas a pastry and coffee at 7-Eleven is 200yen.

Mi A, were you referring to Gontran Cherrier? This is a brand I don't mind seeing proliferate.

I believe the Shinjuku Southern Terrace one opens at 7:30. Yum.

Convenience store coffee has actually gotten much better in the last five years or so. Some stores have elaborate machines that grind the beans fresh and brew them cup by cup. Of course, the coffee beans have to be decent and the machines have to be well maintained and efficiently self-cleaning, but at their best, they sure beat a Bunn-o-Matic. I generally go for iced coffee rather than hot with these contraptions, but when you need a caffeine fix in a pinch they can be a lot better than nothing.
