Why do you want to go there in the first place?

Indeed, the cross-border bus service is probably the most direct and economical option.

We bought ferry tixs online here http://www.cksp.com.hk/en/route/pearl_river_delta/shipingline_price_hk_zj

90min ferry to Zhonghsan Ferry.

Car ride from Zhongshan to Kaiping about 2 hours away. We hired a private van driver for the 6 of us for 2 days www.delightcar.com. very responsive. (~USD$340)

No public transport is available, thus private hiring car was the best way to get around to different sights that was all spread out.

One night staying in Country Garden Kaiping. Sights entrance tixs weren't cheap, but they did offer discount to seniors and children. RMB180/for all attractions valid for 2 days. Or just buy them separately. I don't think you have to see all of them nor have the time for a one night stay.

I am actually living in Kaiping as of right now and also got here from Hong Kong Airport. Once you get all your luggages and come out there are desks literally 10 seconds away. One of the desks sell bus tickets to Kaiping. Buy the the ticket. Follow the instructions and good luck getting to Kaiping.

Don’t have to spend all that money. It’s only $45 USD if you buy a bus ticket at the airport

For my experience ,the best and easiest way from Hongkong to Kaiping below.

1.)you can take the train from Hung Hom Kowloon to Guangzhou East .

It takes 2 hours to Guangzhou, the price is HKD210.00(First Class ticket).

The earliest train from Hung Hom Kowloon is 07:25am , and you be Guangzhou east railway station is about 09:24am.

2.)and asked an English speaking driver pick your up from the Guangzhou east railway station to Kaiping Diaolou, it takes about 2 hours . so you will be there about 12:00pm.

No worried , it isstill have enough time to see the most three important attractions.(Zili village,Li Garden and Majianglong Village)

3.)You if you hiring car with English speaking driver, you still can go back to your Guangzhou or Foshan hotel at the same day.

I advice you book in advance .you know about your driver before you start to work at least .

You can search on google Guangzhou English speaking driver or Kaiping English speaking driver as keyword, you can find some of them .

Pick one on the the internet better than the one your rent in the airport .Most of them the driver from the airport offer, they don't speak English . Have good trip.
