Too quiet ?

Booked to go end of July next year , reading some reviews they say it's quiet , although we don't expect it to be like Albuferia we like a little bit of life , our evenings usually consist of a walk , nice meal followed by a few drinks and cocktails in a bar possibly playing some music . Will we get that ? Don't mind venturing into Albuferia every few nights but not every night . 12 of us going ages range from 13-55

Many thanks

October is still pretty busy and almost everywhere that tourists want will be open. We get a lot of golf groups, people with no schoolaged children, retireees then when the UK schools have half term before the end of the month, there is a kind of mini-surge in numbers. Summer season winds down at the end of October.

Many of the bars and restaurants close for the winter at the end of the autumn half term holidays, which this year runs into the first few days of November. Up until then, everything should still be open. There are a handful of places that stay open all year round.

We were in Olhos last October and had a lovely time. Obviously nowhere near as busy as it is during the height of summer, but that can be an advantage, as you do not have to queue for tables at the restaurants.

jazz42, there are some nice restaurants and bars in Olhos (around 40 to 50). We visit Symbiosis and Cabanas cocktail bars, or alternatively go down to one of the bars by the beach. A few places have music on in the evening, including some live entertainers, and there is also a unique little bar (Black Cats) which is just up a side street at the top of the beach road. A taxi into Albufeira costs about 8 to 10 euros depending upon the time of day. There are two taxi ranks in the village.

Maybe it's just me but I don't find it very pretty place , maybe depends where you're staying , we loved the hotel but too near the very busy road on way to the beach

Sounds like it will be perfect for you. We own our own apartment there & its just as you describe your evenings. Depending on where your staying you should get all you need close at hand & July isnt quiet !!

Did you ever venture along to Falesia beach? About 7-10 minutes walk from the road you're talking about- well the turn off is, just by or beyond Porto Bay Falesia hotel. It's one of the most beautiful spots I've ever been to and I've certainly been around.
