Olhos D'Agua has a resident population of about 3,000 so there are a few restaurants and bars open all year around. However most of the tourist restaurants and bars will be closed. It will be quiet there, with few if any tourists about.

Albufeira (nearly ten times the size) is only 6km away. Plenty of places to stay there and obviously much busier

Like Cubsor said,November is a very quit mounth and a few restaurants and bars are close.

There are nice hotels in Olhos de Agua with animation evenings like Sensimar Falesia or Portobay Falesia.

The hotel is in a lovely location overlooking the beach at Falesia.

As stated, many of the restaurants and bars close for the winter at the end of the autumn half term holiday, but there will still be quite a few places open (around half a dozen bars, and a dozen or more restaurants). There should also be quite a number of places in nearby Acoteias open. This area is about a fifteen minute walk from the Portobay Hotel. Last year we were there just before the Autumn half term holidays, but we went in November the year before, and are going in November again this year. In 2015, we had lovely sunny weather.

From Olhos, it is pretty easy to get to both Albufeira and Vilamoura either by bus or taxi. Return trip for two would cost:- Albufeira - 9.20 euros (bus), 16 to 20 euros (taxi). Vilamoura - 13.20 euros (bus), and about 30 to 35 euros (taxi).

Hi, stated early Nov last year and a couple of places on the beachfront were open daily. Also a handful on the main road to Albufeira were open too. It was very quiet and cool on an evening but beautiful sunny days (we had about 24c) and stunning beach walks on deserted beach were great. It was very different to coming at other times of the year but we still had a lovely time. Actually here now and it's more busy than usual at this time of year.

Agree brijo067.

It's lovely down at the beach out of season if you get the sun. When we have been there in the winter, although the beach and promenade are quiet, the bars overlooking it, (Caixote, Taberna, Tamarillo etc) have all had plenty of customers.

Restaurants open in previous years included Restaurant Olhos de Agua, Caixote, Tamarillo, Chef Peking, O Manuel, S Martinos, Tavertinos, Nelsons, Cabrita, Tandoori Palace, Tiffany's and O Licorne. There were also a few places open near the Velamar, and a number in Roja Pe/Acoteias. Symbiosis was open last year out of season, and several of the coffee shops remain open. All the supermarkets will be open, but will have shorter hours than in summer.

If October was anything to go by then I think November will be a little busier than prior years. Weather looks set to hold also. As a result of the Monarch debacle we are getting an extra day/night on our November trip (such a hardship!).

We have two trips planned during the winter, so I am hoping that the resort will be busier than in previous years. The only thing that is likely to put people off, is the hike in prices due to the situation with Monarch. The flight that we are booked on in November increased by more than five hundred pounds for the two of us. The cost is now almost double what it was during peak holiday season.

Hoping that a few of the new restaurants in and around Olhos do decide to open during the winter months.

Gosh that's outrageous price hike. We were only flying back with monarch & quickly rebooked home with Ryanair & it was reasonable but as the day went on the prices were rocketing. I think the trick is to book as far in advance as possible. Enjoy your trips & let's hope the sunny weather stays.

Is anyone over in Olhos at present? We are due there from tomorrow, and wondering which places have decided to remain open this year. Looking at TA reviews for the area this morning and they seem to have almost ground to a halt.

At least the good weather is still around, so it’s much better than here where it is cold, wet and windy 🤧
