Where to stay - driving then camping!

We plan to drive to Bavaria from Calais via a couple of days in Cologne then Fulda, in a couple of weeks' time. It seems most campsites don't take reservations for tents, so that gives us flexibility, but we can't decide where to stay - near Berchtesgaden for the whole 9 nights, or there and then somewhere near Mittenwald, or somewhere in between eg Tegernsee. We want to see:

Salzburg

Koenigssee (definitely)

Munich (definitely)

Mittenwald violin museum

Eagles Nest

We want to go cycling and walking, eat good food, speak as much German as possible, and see beautiful countryside and pretty towns.

Any advice would be much appreciated. We can't change how long we're there for as we're visiting friends on the way down, and it'll take the best part of two days to get back to Calais!

and do some cycling and walking
