No respect for anything...
There is a plaque of this thoughtless, destructive bahavior
Letting it stay only implies it's acceptable.
Certainly, if there is a Sharpie lying around, pick it up and temove it
Presumably the lovey dovey padlocks are out of favour and they've just gone back to graffiti.
What a small minded egomaniac. Was this guy about 14-years-old?
Punitive fines for this type of garbage need to be severe.
"Punitive fines for this type of garbage need to be severe."
$100,000 and a year in jail seems pretty severe, and obviously doesn't work. Education is what's needed.
Remember the Boy Scout leaders that were tipping over rocks in the Goblin Valley hoodoos?
Ugh......it makes me so sad when I see vandalism like that.
The guy does sound remorseful though. However, it's hard to know if it's sincere, so......either way, hopefully he won't do this again.
They need to make examples of some of these, trials, fines and either jail or community service. Publicize them, maybe others will think twice. And some locals are no better, we go where tourists don't and the amount of trash, dumping of furniture etc, is depressing.
Joe did a great job of getting this out in social media!!
I have a difficult time believing a grown man and business owner doesn't know better than to scribble his name on rocks with a sharpie in a national park. A teenager, maybe. A grown man, there are no excuses.
