Time needed in St. George

It seems that the ferry service from Dockside to St. George is very limited. How many hours would you recommend to take the walking tour? Do they do the reenactment and dunking every day? What time does that take place?

>>>...Do they do the reenactment and dunking every day? What time does that take place?...<<<

The Towne Crier & Dunking of the 'towne wench' used to be every day...except Fridays & Sundays...at Noon on the Square.

Also...there used to be a free, guided Walking Tour of Saint George's on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM (ending at the Historic Re-enactment on the Square at Noon beginning out at the Saint George's Foundation building....but I'm not sure what the schedule may be for 2013 ?? Any day, you can pick up a brochure for a self-guided Walking Tour of Saint George's at either the Visitors Information Center (in: old Globe Hotel building) or at the Saint George's Foundation.

if you find yourselves touring through Saint George's on a Wednesday or Saturday afternoon, I suggest that you consider making time to include the proper Afternoon Tea served at--

The '..SWEET P..' bakery & tearoom, in Stewart Hall at the BERMUDA PERFUMERY, out in Saint George's (Queen St. & Tailor's Alley)--

How much time for Saint George's ??...As much as you need...as much--or as little--as you like. Taking the early AM Orange route ferry out to Saint George's...poking around town...stay for lunch...then either spend some more time poking 'round...or...spend some time swimming and/or snorkeling at Tobacco Bay (full bathroom & changing room facilities)...or...hop-on a bus and head east (#1 route for Swizzle Inn, Bailey's Ice Cream. Crystal Caves; #3 route for Swizzle Inn, Bailey's Ice Cream, Crystal Caves, Bermuda Maritime Museum,; etc) back toward Hamilton.

With apologies...that should've been '...head WEST...'...but since all bus service from Saint George's heads west...there's not much choice.

Thanks for all your help. By any chance to you know how long it takes to disembark from the ship and get on line to purchase tokens or a transportation pass. It's a little hard trying to plan out the morning when I don't know how long we will be waiting to get tokens. I'm sure almost everyone on the cruise will be trying to do the same thing.

Also can you tell me how to figure out how many zones for a bus ride? I am interested in Dockyard to Horseshoe Bay Beach. Thank you!

You may purchase the TRANSPORTATION PASS at the VISITORS INFORMATION desk, located inside the '..gazebo..' GIFT SHOP, which will be located approx. 50 yards from the landward end of your King's/Heritage Wharf cruise ship pier. There's no telling how many other passengers will also choose the same route so allow yourself plenty to time to get off of the ship, purchase your pass and get in line for the ferry...and...have a '..Plan B..' ready to go if 'Plan A' doesn't suit.

Unless you'll only be making a single day port-call in Bermuda and only plan to travel to and from Horseshoe Bay, You'll probably find that the TRANSPORTATION PASS is your best option for simple, '..hop-on/hop-off convenience to all public buses and ferries.

The Dockyard complex is located within Transportation Zone 13. Horseshoe Bay is located within Transportation Zone 9. That's four(4) contiguous zone travel.

Do you know if they accept the Discover Card at the Visitor's Center? Thank you!

Sorry...don't know if the Visitor's Information Centers accept DISCOVER cards....but the acceptance rate of the Discover in Bermuda will be less than even AMEX and far less than either VISA or M/C. If you're relying on the Discover card in Bermuda...you'd better have a VISA or M/C as a '..plan B..'.
