Staying at the Grand Bahia Principe in Punta Cana next week and wondering if anyone has any experience eating here on a vegan/ plant based diet? Tips? Best a la carte? Thank you!

Welcome to the Punta Cana forums.

There are numerous Vegan options at their main buffets and a la cartes. I am not sure which of the 7 Bahia resorts you have booked, however, here are the menu's at most of the a la cartes and you will see where Vegetarian options are listed.

Please note that a la cartes which are located at the Fantasia resort are exclusive to guests of the Fantasia resort – ie: guests from any of the other resorts may not dine at these a la cartes.

“MAIKO” and “MIKADO” – Japanese – they share the same kitchen facilities

The Maiko a la carte is designated for guests of the Bavaro, Turquesa and Ambar resorts and is located at the Bavaro resort

The Mikado a la carte is designated for guests of the Punta Cana, Esmeralda & Fantasia resorts and is located at the Punta Cana resort

I don't eat meat and find menus challenging for two weeks, even at hotels I love like the Bahia Principes and Dreams. Luckily I eat fish.

Veganism is a far greater problem as even many of the veggie dishes listed above contain cheese or milk. Our son's partner who is a strict vegan is coming with us this summer and I am worried about her being able to find two weeks' worth of vegan food. She can't live entirely on salads.

I will do as Brooklin suggests and let Dreams L R know in advance. I know they give coeliacs or others with allergies letters to present at the restaurants, so I am hoping this extends to vegans, even though I am aware it is a choice not a life threating condition.

It was great! Loads of options at the buffets. Lots of fresh fruit, rice, beans, lentils, tons of vegetables. I was really impressed and definitely didn’t go hungry :)
