Driving in Phillipsburg

I understand that a portion of Front Street in Phillipsburg is now pedestrian only. How far can I drive on Front Street in an easterly direction before it becomes pedestrian only?

It is best to park in one of the free or pay lots and walk along Front Street. Front Street is narrow, crowded with walkers and there is no parking to speak of.

To the best of my knowledge, Front Street is typically open for the whole length. They do close portions in times of celebration, but not routinely. Depending on time of year, and time of day, it is difficult at best to navigate as the sidewalks are small and there are pedestrians everywhere. Park only in the parking lots in Philipsburg, not on the street. No parking zones are not clearly marked and your car can be towed.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Where are the free or pay lots?

There are free lots along what is called the Pondfill. The road that runs parallel to Front Street, but about 4 blocks back along the salt pond. But difficult to find parking there as many of the shop workers use it long before anyone else shows up. There is a paid lot next to the Police Station, approximately center of town, and another at Bobby's Marina at the "Head" of town, on the road to the cruise ship dock. I think you will find both on any decent map. Both are $1 per hour. We typically have luck parking at Bobby's.

Here is the map. You can see the places Elaine mentioned, Bobby's Marina, the pondfill area and the other pay lot is near the post office.
