Which hotel tropikist or grand courlan

Can anyone help?

I’m not sure which hotel to stay at Either the tropikist or le grand Courlan.

I am travelling with my husband and 10 year old son.

I’m not fussy as long as it’s clean, food is ok and welcomes children.

The main thing that worries me with the tropikist is that a lot of the reviews say it’s hard to get a sunbed round the pool and le grand courlan a lot say not recccomened for children.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Lara

I am currently at La Grand Courlan and there are no children here at the moment as it is mainly marketed to Brits so they are still at school (that’s why I’m here while you are in the snow ;-)) I can see absolutely no reason why it would not be suitable for children.

The lunches at the Waves restaurant are fine. Evening meals are a bit dull buffet - but you get what you pay for.

Thank you so much for your reply. I hope you’re having a lovely time.

Is the beach nice at le grand courlan. Have you been to pigeon point? If so is it easy to get to from the hotel?

The beach is fabulous. Not commercialised, very quiet, no sun beds or jet skis. Pigeon Point is easy to get to. I am here more for the Rain Forest & bird life (Hummingbirds, Trogons, Tanagers & Mot Mots are SO beautiful).

Went to Barbados this time last year but this is much more low key & laid back & I prefer it.

Some very good restaurants close-by (Fish Pot & Seahorse for example) to break the routine.

I know nothing about your other option so don’t be swayed by my one-sided input. We have had a fabulous time but there are very few people here. I’m not sure I would like it so much if it was busier.

Good luck with your research.

PS. The flight is an ordeal.

For places close to the beach and other activities Tropikist would be a better choice.
