We have been on Eleuthera, staying at French Leave, and trying to find somewhere to play tennis- any suggestions?
Gerry, are there tennis courts on Windermere open to the general public? As it's a gated community, how would a tourist gain access to them?
Not to play tennis... too many beautiful beaches to visit and do absolutely NOTHING!!!
There are two sets of tennis courts on Windermere: two at the group of residences known as the apartments and two at the Club at Windermere. Usage of those at the apartments are restricted to apartment residents and their guests. The Club courts were recently resurfaced and may be used by Club members and their guests. N.B. not all who reside on Windermere are Club members, so an invitation from a resident may or may not allow access to the courts.Edited: 29 May 2017, 22:18
There is an old tennis court on Banks Road just where you turn left to Unique Village. Haven't been by there in awhile, not sure if the net is still up. Old court would need sweeping for sure because of near by trees - maybe ask at UV.Edited: 29 May 2017, 22:44
That's a private court, attached to the home of one of the owners of Unique Village. It's Pauline Johnson's house, I believe. They make it available to hotel guests, but not sure if they rent it or make it available to non-guests. Probably not a good idea to just drop by there to play a couple of sets.
What about the courts at Pineapple Fields? Are non-guests allowed to use those for a fee?
