More Flamingo Air Questions (sorry!)

I have a visit planned for March and I have been procrastinating buying the flights from Nassau to Staniel Cay until the airstrip reopens. Should I be worried that if I wait too long the flights on the days I need will be full? Does anyone have a sense of how often the flights book solid?

Also, I read on another thread that it is necessary to call and reconfirm flights. That is not something I would have ever realized I would need to do. Are there any other quirks about these small airlines that I should be aware of?

(edited to add: I pack light so problems people might typically have with lower luggage restrictions will not be of concern for me)

Just a word of caution. We flew over to Staniel on Flamingo Air and they weighed all the luggage including a full cooler of food in the Nassau airport and were not over weight. On the return flight to Nassau, the pilot looked out his window as we were boarding the flight and yelled…”you’re over weight. They have no scales at Staniel and I tried to explain that the cooler is now empty and we weigh less than the flight over. He was very forceful and said…You’re over weight. so when we arrived in Nassau, I tried to argue and not pay but they got pretty upset, so I paid. I would not fly them again, unless last choice.
