Hello, we’re about to fly to Borneo next week but the current haze situation in SEA is quite concerning. The hostel and mulu park reply that ‘it’s not bad, the planes can land’. This is good news, however, we planned the pinnacle hike so I’m concerned about the weather conditions. Is anyone currently there or has access to a reliable source? Thank you in advance!

111 helpful votes As of today, it looks like the air quality index numbers for coastal towns in the area adjacent to Mulu are low and have OK air quality.
Mulu does not have an air quality index as it is isolated with low a population.

Thanks for the reply esorlegin. I’ve checked the aqi website previously, but as you pointed out Mulu doesn’t have a dedicated reading. If anyone is there right now, we’d much appreciate the info!
Might be an idea to keep an eye on the Borneo Post https://www.theborneopost.com where the API is being updated frequently

111 helpful votes Check YR.no for weather - if there is rain, any haze will be 'washed' out of the air.
