There isn't much that is near River Cree other than chains, so I'll just give you general recommendations, assuming you have a vehicle. My first choice would be The Blue Pear

River Cree is quite isolated, so you need to drive about 5-10 minutes to get to the nearest restaurants that aren't in the hotel. My favorites in the area are Koutouki Greek restaurant (a locally owned mini-chain with 3 Edmonton locations) and the Homefire Grill. Homefire Grill is similar to a mid-range chain restaurant like Earl's or Moxies, but with a bit of an Aboriginal flavour (there's bannock and lots of bison on the menu).

The Cactus Club at West Edmonton Mall might be a good place for you to try. Similar to Earls in terms of decor and type of menu. Also not too far to drive from River Cree Casino!!

Sage restaurant at the River Cree Casino itself is quite good, but pricey for the amount of food you get. Reservation required always

If you head north on 170th Street, towards West Edmonton Mall, there's a few restaurants you could try.

Ric's Grill, 17520 100 Ave, is a small chain, you have one in Calgary, but maybe you haven't tried it yet? I think there are some variations among them too.

Chop, 17635 Stony Plain Road, (at the Sandman Inn) is also a small chain, but it is not in Calgary yet.

Sawmill, 9504 - 170 Street, a local Edmonton steakhouse chain.

Homefire Grill, 18210 100 Ave, a local place. Really nice atmosphere.

West Edmonton Mall has quite a few places, but I'm not too familiar with them. A lot of chain places, but a few unique ones too. You have to put up with navigating the mall. For me it's not worth the trouble just to visit a restaurant, but if you are already at the mall there could be something you'd like to try.
