September Visit 16-21.

Group of ten guys in town for convention. Looking for hot sports such as places to eat, Educational sites, Casino's, High Energy Bars, Gentleman's clubs, and places to stay away from.

Any suggestions please.

We have a new casino that has opened up - Dakota Dunes. It is a 15 minute drive south of town (straight out Lorne Avenue). They run penny to dollar machines and live tables. It's a nice facility with a separate designated smoking room with machines. They also have a brand new golf course.

Things that may interest you:

Stock car racing - Sept 20 - Bridge City Speedway (north of the city)

Drag racing - Sept 20/21 - Sk International Raceway (south of the city)

Paintball - we have several outdoor facilities nearby.

Golfing - we have several courses around the city.

Blades hockey game - Sept 19

If you like to drive adult go-carts, you can try Velocity Raceway.

As for bars - it would depend on what you are looking for. Country, rock, sports, etc.

Place to avoid - Diva's unless you are interested in same sex relationships.

Not interested in Diva's, but some would like to hit a gentlemens club. Is there a shuttle from downtown to the casino? Do you have a suggestion of how to get there?

The casino has 4 free shuttles that leave from the city. You would take the 23 St Shuttle. You can find the information at:

The casino also has a fairly decent buffet.

I'm a penny slot player, so can't comment on the blackjack. I do know they have several poker tables/tournaments. The blackjack tables seem to be full most evenings and the roulette table has electronic betting machines since the table gets too full.

If by gentlemans club you mean strip joint, you won't find one here, there are none in Saskatoon.

For bars, you can try Overdrive (19yr olds - 25yr old mostly). The Pat has a slightly higher age range. Ryly's is ok and mostly mid-20's last time I went. The Longbranch is the most popular country bar, go on a Thursday. The Sutherland is another young people bar. Jax is often referred to as the cougar bar. Beiley's seems to have the largest age range. Try Amigo's for some good food and live bands and lively atmosphere. Bud's on Broadway often has live bands as well. Check to see if Odeon has a concert, they bring in some really good acts.

is there a good place to eat at the casino?

What is the current exchange rate with US dollar?

How far is the airport from Park Hotel?

Will I need a jacket in Sept? What is the average temperature?

Pretty sure there's a restaurant at the Casino, never been though so can't say for sure or how good it is.

Check out www.xe.com for current exchange rates, or you can try your banks website to see what they'll sell you Canadian Dollars for.

Nothing in Saskatoon is far from anything. Park Town Hotel is probably 8-10km from the airport. It'll be a 10min drive in good traffic, 30-45min if you hit the wrong part of rush hour and hit all the red lights.

Definetly bring a jacket, the weather has turned cold. At night it's down to about 5 and up to about 20 on a good day. It's also raining quite a bit lately. Oh and it's windy everyday in Saskatchewan, all year. Check out the Weather Network for current temps and forecasts. www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/cask0276

The windy comment is a bit of an exageration. Just looked out my window and it's not windy right now. A jacket is a good idea, 5C (41F) might feel a little cool to you.

The casino has a buffet restaurant. We've eaten there once and it was good. They also have a golf course at the Dakota Dunes, but I don't know if they serve food.
