Things to do in Corwall

Hello All,

For the first time we are planing to go Cornwall during this coming long weekend (may 5 to 9 2012). We will be staying in Polperro.

2 children (below 6 years) and 4 adults travelling.

We are thinking to go to Eden Project, minack , National Maritime Museum Cornwall, and Lanhydrock.

Would be great to know following,

1) WHat would be the best route to reach polperro (from Hampshire, near M3).

Please also let me know during the journey what would be the best place stop for a break.

2)if the weather is good, what would be the best place to have a boat ride.

3) are there any other place we should consider

thanks in advance

1) M3, A303, A30 (highway to the sun!) - 'half way' depends where you start from - you don't want to tell us!

2) Nice boat ride in Padstow 'Jubilee Queen' but will you be near there? -http://www.padstowboattrips.com/page9.htm

3) Looe? Fowey?? Plymouth?? St Austell??

How about a river boat trip to/from St Mawes/Truro?

Hi there

You might consider taking the A38 from Exeter as this is a bit more direct. If you take the A30, you'll either have to come off it at Launceston then cut down to Callington on the A388 to join the A390 to Liskeard which is going all round the houses, or carry on through to Bodmin which then means backtracking up through the Glynn Valley on the eastbound A38 then cutting through to Polperro. There is a shortcut on this route but if you don't know it, it's rather hard to explain.

if you opt for the A38, you go across the Tamar Bridge ( it's dual carriageway all the way from Exeter to the bridge), carry on to Trerulefoot roundabout, then turn left which is signed for Looe and Polperro.
