Best beach?

Hello there,

I am heading down to Torquay next week for a weeks holiday with my husband and our 2 daughters who are 5 and 2.

We are staying at the Hoseasons Holiday park and would like to know where the closest, nicest beaches are please?

Hi there, the Park is a mile or two away from the centre of Torquay... You'll need to drive (or bus) down...

The main beach (Torre Abbey) is a sand beach, not soft as it's totally tidal so the sand is hard-packed...

Round the coast, Oddicombe is a shingle/pebble beach, there is a funky cliff railway down to it that the Kids will like...

Probably your best bet would be to head south along the coast to Goodrington... sand and some amusements for the children...

IF you're prepared to go further, there is a decent beach at Teignmouth, and even better at Slapton, Blackpool and Exmouth...

The one at Goodrington (By Key-West) already mentioned, is nice and really popular as it has the boating lakes, amusements etc as well as a good toilet facilities.

Preston Sands on the way from Torquay to Paignton is a nice beach as well.

We are down Torquay next week as well ......... hope we get some nice beach weather :)
