My elderly Aunt is a very nervous person and doesn't travel well.
She lives near Warmwell, Dorset and is going to visit her sister in Bardsea, lake district for Christmas.
She is considering spending a lot of money on a taxi all the way.
I have suggested if we can find public transport to the midlands (I live near birmingham and drive). I could meet her off train or coach and then send her out her on the next one. Or I could drive from brum to the lakes. My uncle doesn't mind picking her up from train station and he did mention a station which is a main one to Scotland, near Kendal.
Any ideas? I can see she would have to change at Southampton which she does not want to do. I will carry on googling ideas, but just thought if anyone has any ideas I would be most grateful. If there were more hours in day I would drive down and take her myself.
