Good restaurant for group of 8 not too far from St James St?

Looking for a restaurant with good atmosphere and food that is group-friendly (8 people, we WILL reserve in advance!). Perferably one that is within a 1-2km radius max of where we will be staying in Brighton (On Broad Street in between Marine Parade and St James Street). Any suggestions? One person in the group seriously dislikes fish, so no places that specialize in seafood please. Would welcome any tips :) !

Popular with groups is Bom-Bane's not far in St Georges. Gets good reviews.

(drink at Brighton Rock, Black Dove, Cocktails at Plotting Parlour).

Bom-Bane's is Belgian style food, so you should be fine re the fish. Alternatives are al duomo (italian), Donatello (italian), Cote (French) but personally I'd stick with the above.
