Sightseeing questions?

Arriving around noon from London. A couple of questions:

Arriving Lime St station, we will walk to Albert Dock so husband can do The Magical Mystery tour. Can we walk from Albert Dock to Pier Head to see Beatles statue before hand?

Sister and I will meet husband at The Cavern Club after. Are there shops, sites for her and I to see as we walk to meet up at Cavern Club?

Thanks in advance.

It's about a 15-20 minute walk from the station to Albert dock and the statue is a few minutes walk from there towards the Liver building which dominates the waterfront.

On your way from the station, you will walk through the main shopping area. The city centre is very walkable and is full of shops of all kinds, small independents, department stores and everything in between. A couple of indoor malls and Liverpool one which is a mix of indoor and outdoor. Many pubs and places to eat.

Will you have luggage?

Yes, the Pier Head is just a few minutes' walk from the Albert Dock - you'll be able to see the Albert Dock from the Pier Head.

On dropping your husband off at the Magical Mystery Tour, cross the road back into the city and you will be pretty much in the Liverpool One shopping area. The Cavern and Mathew Street are just on the other side of Liverpool One.

No we will not have luggage thankfully. We will eat near the Cavern Club after the tour. How long would the walk from Cavern Club back to Lime St station be?

Thanks so much

The magical mystery tour starts at the furthest end of the Albert Dock from the Pier Head, around 800 yds walk.

The distance to either from Lime St is roughly the same, but would make sense to go to Pier Head first, then walk past the Museum of Liverpool and the Maritime Museum to where the Magical Mystery Tour starts.

Tickets for the MM Tour includes “free” entry to the Cavern Club, however anyone in your party not taking the Tour will have to pay entry to the Cavern Club which was £5 when I done it a few months ago.

Anyone with a thirst for Shopping will not be disappointed in Liverpool.

Yes I'd agree that it makes sense to head to the Pier Head first. I'd walk alongside St George's Hall and veer right towards Dale Street then it's a straight run down there past the Town Hall onto Water Street, across The Strand and then between the Liver Building and the Cunard Building and you should see the Beatles Statue to your left as you face towards the river.

I agree, walk first down to Pier Head for photos etc at the Fab Four Statues. Then hubby walks through Albert Dock (with the river on his RH side) to the start of Magical Mystery Tour.

(On that walk through Albert Dock, look out for the statue of Billy Fury, Liverpool pop idol a bit before Beatles-era).

IMO you other two should walk with him 'most' of the way; Albert Dock area is interesting and has many shops in it. Then you two turn L into the main shopping area of Liverpool One. (Much better than retracing steps). I've enjoyed a Costa Coffee shop, for sit down, drink / snack on that route in Albert Dock area a couple of mins before MM Tour.

Slight digression - for your awareness as you are from Canada -

Just before your reach Liver Building, look out for the Maple Trees as you cross Canada Boulevard. All explained in my post #8 in the link below. Your walk will take you very close to all the items indicated (if you fancy visiting them, instead of shopping that can be done in any city).

We did something similar a few years back. Although we started from the World Museum it isn't very far from Lime Street station. We had plenty of time before the MM tour which was great. Across the main road from Albert Dock you will find plenty of shops and eateries.
