Drop off for university of liverpool, greenbank

Hi knowledgeable people. having to drop my daughter off at Greenbank student accommodation on Saturday 14 Sept 24. I know Liverpool are playing at home with a 3pm KO. I appreciate the accommodation is some distance from the football grounds, but should I expect chaos on the roads? Coming from Leeds direction. TIA x

Not really

Follow the M62 to the end

And get into the left hand lane

You will pass a pub close to the motorway

The Rocket

Bear left as you leave the Motorway for South Liverpool

And you will be heading away from the football traffic

Watch out for the 50 mph speed camera as you approach the end of the motorway

It may depend on who Liverpool are playing - shoe games (for example) against Manchester Utd will get more people travelling by car than one against Arsenal, who's away support will more likely travel by train.

My advice would be to arrive well before kick off and depart either before or well after full time to allow any traffic issues to resolve themselves.

The match is against Nottingham Forest, not that that makes any difference. You'll only encounter match traffic on the M62, and I'd be surprised if you even noticed it. You're not going anywhere near any real problems.

If you really wanted to be sure, come off the M62 at J5, the Knotty Ash / Huyton turn-off. Take the first exit and drive alongside the motorway for a mile, then turn left at traffic lights into Rocky Lane, which takes you to Queens Drive, back on your original route. Cuts a corner, and if there is a tailback at the end of the motorway this bypasses it.
