Apartment with Baby

I need some help finding an apartment. I have searched through tripadvisor but have been scared off by some negative reviews. We will be in London in mid May for 7 nights. Since we will be travelling with our 9 month old baby, we would like to stay in an apartment. We want to be close to a tube station in zone 1, we need a baby crib (cot), and we prefer an elevator or not too many stairs for the stroller. Our budget would be about 100-120 pounds a night (with all taxes etc included). Is this possible in this price range? Does anyone have any suggestions or help on where to start.

Thanks!

From where in Canada are you flying to London? Are you making your way back home after your week in the capital or heading elsewhere; if the latter will you travel by rail or by air?

Although you say you'd like to be near an Underground station, be warned that very very few central London stations have step-free access. Unless you're willing to have one person fold and carry the pushchair downstairs and the other carry the baby you may find that using buses is considerably easier for short journeys.

London's red buses have dedicated space in the lower saloon for two pushchairs, three if they're small, and buses are frequent and numerous. Just something to consider.

We will only be spending our week in London. We are not going anywhere before or after. We are flying into Gatwick. We are okay with carrying a stroller down tube stairs though may use the buses if they are convenient. Thanks for the info regarding them. We also are willing to walk a lot to get to destinations if they are close (up to a 45 min walk one way).

Have a look at www.endsleighcourt-london.com The website is a bit basic but the apartments are very central (better bus than Underground service I think, although King's Cross, Euston and Russell Square aren't too far away), there are lifts in the building, WiFi is free and transport to and from Gatwick is easy.

For the latter, you may take the First Capital Connect train from Gatwick to and from St Pancras, a very short walk from Upper Woburn Place. If your flights arrive and depart at the weekend then trains to and from Victoria or London Bridge might be a better option, as FCC trains don't cross London at the weekend (they terminate at London Bridge) because of work on the line.

On the other side of London, Nell Gwynn House might be worth a look. The location is in a very nice neighbourhood, shopping is excellent, and transport is also very good. www.nghapartments.co.uk for more information.
