Bus from bakewell to buxton

To play head isn't a stop on the bus route do you think there's a chance the Fri at would drop me off or would I have to go into buxton and double back?

The Transpeak bus from Bakewell to Buxton goes up the A5270 towards Chelmorton, so assuming that you mean Topley Head, you would need to get off the bus on the A36 at Blackwell Turn and walk for 1 mile along this route - https://goo.gl/maps/pBvwBNggDFK2 .

You could try explaining to the driver where you are trying to get to, to see if he will drop you off at the junction with the B5270, but officially he should say no as he should only be setting down at designated bus stops.

Note that the only buses that stay on the A6 past Topley Head are routes 65 and 66 from Sheffield and Baslow, but there is no bus stop there for them to use and it wouldn't be safe to stop there heading towards Buxton anyway.
