Central Windsor to Buckingham Palace

I am staying in central Windsor and have an 11am tour of Buckingham Palace. What is my best option for getting there? I suppose rail to paddington station would be most direct. Would I be able to walk from there?

The most direct way would be for you to take a train from the Windsor and Eton Riverside station to Clapham Junction, and then change there for Victoria Station.

From Victoria Station it is a 15 minute walk..

The whole journey should take about an hour. But if you are there now, there are engineering works that could set you back 45 minutes. Is this a current or future trip?

Did you change your hotel? In your last thread you were nearer to Maidenhead, which is not Central Windsor.

Here is that info, if you need it.

3Sept, so it would be on the weekend. Will most likely go in on Saturday as well to visit other sites. Hopefully the engineering work will be done by then. Is Clapham Junction easy to navigate?

I see no engineering works for September, but do check closer to the date.

Yes, it is a busy large station but easy to navigate. Use the footbridge to cross to platforms 12 or 14 for a train to Victoria, they are frequent (every 5 minutes or so) and displays on the footbridge show the next train. For your return journey trains to Windsor & Eton Riverside depart from platforms 5 or 6 (both sides of the same island).

Sit in the rear of the train at Windsor for the footbridge change at Clapham Junction.
