Glasgow Marriott to Edinburgh Airport

We will be at the Marriott in Glasgow, but have a morning flight out of Edinburgh. I know we could take a train or a bus, but looking for the easiest way to do it with 3 people and luggage.

Thank you for any advice.

The easiest is taxi from hotel to Buchanan bus station in Glasgow about 10 minutes, then bus right to the door of Edinburgh airport. It is a brand new fairly luxurious coach http://www.citylink.co.uk/citylinkair.php and runs very 30 minutes and takes about one hour.

Easiest way is a Taxi! Door to door, around 50 minutes, depending on traffic.

Around £95.

Or

Taxi to Buchanan Bus Station (£5) then Citylink AIR to Edinburgh Airport, £12 each.

Welcome to the forum tw67.

Only question I would have is what time is your morning flight from Edinburgh?

The main M8 motorway would be the route for both bus or taxi, but it is only a two lane motorway once out of Glasgow and in the morning rush-hour (from 7am on to 9.30am approx. the tailbacks can start at Junction 4 (Bathgate), so that would have to be factored into your planning, unless a weekend flight.

Our Flight is at 9:30 am, so we would try for the first bus. Even if we get the second bus, we would still be ok, but I like to always be early!

Thank you!

Where are you flying to? I think the 0615 one would get you there in plenty of time.

We will be going from Edinburgh to Dublin to Newark. I am under the mindset that I should be there 3 hours before our flight for an international flight, or is that only from US, not going to?

Can I ask why you ended up in Glasgow for an Edinburgh Flight?

Can you not change the flight, GLA is 15 minutes from the Marriott and you can fly to Dublin from there!

Also you can fly daily from GLA to EWR with United!

EDI to DUB is considered a domestic flight for reasons I won't go into. 2 hours will be fine.

Would be easier to go from GLA but I am guessing that you can't change that now??

It was a major price difference at booking, and we already knew that there was transportation to get us from Glasgow to Edinburgh, but we weren't sure the easiest way. But we already knew that it wasn't overly expensive. Great to know that 2 hours before the flight is all we need, so it will be one less thing to worry about. Thank you for all the help.
