Train or Bus from Dublin to Cork

Will be staying in Dublin want to visit the Ciffs of Moher. We are trying to decide if we should take a bus of the train. Anyone have experience on either?

The Cliffs of Moher are in Clare not Cork

If the question is getting to Cork, I use the train, only using the bus if my destination is Dublin Airport.

For the Cliffs of Moher, a guided tour is probably easiest. Otherwise, you need to get to Ennis or Galway and take a bus from there. Both Ennis and Galway are accessible by train and bus, but unlike Cork, the train has no great speed advantage, so you need to decide if the extra comfort is worth the extra money.

Extreme Ireland do great day tours to the CoM from Dublin. They have two choices of tour to the Cliffs (the premium one includes the boat cruise along the base of the cliffs)

I would do a tour if I wanted to go to the Cliffs of Moher from Dublin. If I wanted to go to Cork from Dublin, I'd take the train. I've done the reverse trip and it was very pleasant.

Hi,

Johno here from extreme Ireland / Irish day tours. we offer two tours to the Cliffs of Moher which leave Dublin daily. As mentioned in an earlier comment there is no train station in the proximity of the cliffs of Moher and you would need to switch between train and coach at Ennis. Please feel free to check out our tours http://www.irishdaytours.ie

For a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher using express train then coach (much nicer than all day in a bus seat), see https://railtoursireland.com
