Should I purchase a transportation pass?

Hi. I am staying in Acruiel for 4 days. One day includes travel to Versaiiles. The other 3 days, I will travel into Paris for sightseeing. I am NOT using the train to travel back abd forth to airport.

So it appears that I will rely on RER since I'm staying outside of city limits. Will it be more cost effective to purchase daily tickets, or is there a pass that can be purchased? What is the cost?

Thanks much for responses.

Exactly which 4 days of the week you are raveling is very important. If your entire stay is within a 7 day period commencing on a Monday, you should take a look at the weekly Navigo fare at 22.15€ plus a 5€ charge for the card.

Take a look at all options here:

So the fare card that Sarastro mentioned would work for your stay except Monday, but if that is just a departure day anyway, that shouldn't matter (since you said you are not planning on train to airport)

You just need to estimate cost of individual trip vs the ~€27 for the card and weekly fare. You should factor in the convenience and time saved of using a Navigo vs. standing in line to buy tickets as needed.

The cost was mentioned in the first post. For more info about this and other passes, tickets and fares go to vianavigo.com switch to English and click Tickets and Fares. To learn how to get around Paris and environs check the route planner and interactive map at ratp.fr. For good info about using public transport check parisbytrain.com.

Hello again. Thank you all for the helpful information. A couple more questions?

Do I need to attach a photo of myself to the card?

Can I purchase the card at CDG?

Thanks.

It is all explained in the links posted in FM's post (#7), particularly parisbytrain.com. But to answer your specific questions - yes and yes.
