which is a better mode of transportation from st lazare to versailles for 4-5 persons)? (RER, uber , bus or taxi) does anybody know about the estimated prices?

Taking a train from Paris Saint-Lazare train station to Versailles is the most logical by default.

It is also optimal if you consider the journey as relevant as the destination since you arrive at a train station in Versailles that requires you to walk through a beautiful market square hundreds of years old.

It's 3.55 per person one way, 7.10 total, however, a daily pass for 1-4 zones is 12 euros and that pass has unlimited travel even on local Versailles buses, look over your choices:

vianavigo.com/en/… 20% savings for buying a batch of ten at once for your return.

All the savings could be blown out the train window if you forget to validate those tickets before boarding the train and get controlled by the train police, so don't forget...
