Accessibility in Arles

Good afternoon. Two elderly but mobile ladies wishing to visit Arles in Sept. Please could you advise if train runs from Marcaise airport & which area would be best for closeness to transport & amenities. Many thanks.

Annie

1. Re: Accessibility in Arles

Did you mean Marseille airport? Yes, there are direct trains to Arles, roughly every hour, with the trip lasting 35-45 minutes. The station for the Marseilles airport is called Vitrolles.

Downtown Arles is very pedestrian-friendly, provided you’re okay with cobblestones. Staying anywhere between the river and Boulevard des Lices, roughly from somewhere around the Arena west to Marechal Leclerc will put you within easy reach of the main sights and many restaurants. The train and bus stations are together, about 1 km from the Arena.
