Sadly not earlier than 2019 (a part end 2018). I think I'll use P+R when ready.

Thanks OffalyRover can't wait... There's been some wild talk about eventually extending the tram to Antibes. Apparently you could travel by trams all the way from St Tropez to Menton back before WW2 ... as well as the railway. Not everything is progress.. :)

As far as I know there are only plans to extend the tram up to Cagnes, but only in the distant future.

Vence once had a train station...

Ireland used to have a vast railway network but in recent years many old railway lines are getting a new lease of life as cycle ways. Is there still an old railway line in Vence?

No rails any more but you can still easily trace the old railway line. You can spot dozens of viaducts, tunnels, tracks turned into roads. The road in direction Saint-Jeannet goes over the old railway viaduct. Find some information here:

https:/…Ligne_Central-Var

Some viaducts (like the one over the Malvan, Vence - St. Paul) were blown up in the last days of the war. They blamed the Germans but in fact it mostly were French locals who preferred to have a road instead of a railway.

P.S. glad to hear the Germans didn't cause any trouble in the area. I hear Nice was occupied by the Italians for some time in WW2 ..Nothing much happened, but a lot of good opera singing.
