Does anyone know how much a taxi is from Pisa Airport to the Leaning Tower ?
Our hotel is close to the Tower so as there are four of us wondered if a taxi would cost only slightly more than the bus.
I have no idea about taxi fares from the airport but the People Mover is just 2.70 euros pp and is very easy and convenient. It takes minutes from the airport to Pisa Centrale which is then about a 15-20 minute walk to the Campo dei Miracoli.
Assuming though you will have your luggage which you will want to check into your hotel first. This past trip we went straight from the airport to Pisa Centrale where we checked our luggage in for safekeeping for 5 euros per person, enjoyed a visit to Pisa and then collected our luggage again before heading to Florence.
Here are various options: http://www.pisa-airport.comEdited: 01 March 2018, 19:38
The cost of a taxi ride from the airport to the tower area (Piazza Manin) is 12€ (cotapi.it/it/i-nostri-servizi/tariffa-urbana).
The cost of the "Pisa Mover + bus" option is 4.10€:
- Pisa Mover from Pisa airport to Pisa Centrale station -> 2.70€ per person
- LAM Rossa bus (to Pietrasantina/Torre) -> 1.40€ per person.
So, the taxi is cheaper if you take the Pisa Mover and then the bus.
Otherwise, you could take the LAM Verde (it stops around 500 meters from the airport), stop at the train station and change the bus (LAM Rossa). Only one ticket (1.40€) per person is required, since it is valid for more than 1 hour.
12Claire21 it is an easy 15-20 minute walk through the town - lots to see and plenty of shops and restaurants along the way (so it may take you longer)! My daughter did some clothes shopping along the way. And yes, it is easy to find.
