What is the best way to go from Pisa to Florence?

We are booking a trip in January and we are looking for the best way to go from Pisa to Florence. Is it better to go by train? Is it better to go by bus? Does anyone have any suggestions.

Train is the obvious choice.

The train is very straightforward. We've just done it today. There are generally 3 trains an hour and as said no need to pre-book just buy your tickets from the machines at the station.

" no need to pre-book"

As this is a regional train, an e-ticket purchased on the Trenitalia web site for a selected day and time is good for any train on that route for the following 4 hours. So with that in hand you simply hop on the next train, no need to bother with a machine.

@mike-nz1

The train journey is longer than 30 mns. The travel time, depending on the train stops, mostly ranges from 60 to 80 minutes.
