Its my first time in Thailand and so so wondered if anyone had experience of this hotel? I have read through the reviews and it's a fairly mixed bag. Does anyone know what the beach is like here? How close is it to restaurant and street food etc?
Cheong Mon is a lovely little crescent shaped bay with soft white sand. If you walk out of the resort (beachside) then there are beach bars and dining to the left and right. On the street side you have multiple eating options and limited shopping along both side of the street.
Have never stayed or eaten at Whitehouse but the beach is gorgeous - one of the prettiest bays in Samui. There are lots of eating options - international and local on your doorstep. Street food? Probably only on walking street night or random carts going by but no real need as plenty of Thai eateries on the main street.
The biggest complaint I have heard about the White House, is the lack of balconies. But it is nicely landscaped with statues and pots as you walk though, towards the beach end there is a swimming pool, and just after that, it leads right onto the beautiful beach, as described^.
Choice of restaurants are located on the main street. It's about a 200 baht songtauw ride to Chawang beach area if looking for "more action" .
The Whitehouse is a lovely resort, from the outside it looks like something from Ankor Wat, and this is followed through the reception area, and walk way to the beach. I havent been in the rooms but met lots of guests whom have stayed here, and had no complaints
Staff are attentive
The restaurant on the beach is in need of a face lift but it doesnt stop them from serving tasty food
