I have a choice of two hotels to decide from ,
The SALA Samui Choengmon Beach or The royal Muang Samui Villas and Suites
Ok, great choice
What do you want to know? Have some help in deciding?
If that is the case then what are your criteria [not the hotels and their quality] but what you want nearby, the beach, the vibe etc, what other than the hotel do you want?

There is a refurbishment next to the royal Muang and the Sala is two to three hundred metres up the beach so the travel agent says we could move to there. We picked this area for slightly more quite ,lots of restaurants in easy walking distance and good beach. Also booked the Royal as i am travelling with or son of fifteen and they had large family pool rooms bigger than most by some way,the Sala have nice rooms but small with three of us in it.There is another option now been suggested to move to The Anantara Lawana with a pool access room which is large for the same money. It also looks quite on the beach, and only a small walk to restaurants which we don't mind
Anantara Lawana Is a good option, and a nice area in the north of Chaweng.
At the budget for these hotels for one room you could achieve a two room small villa or apartment in similar area within walking distance of food. I cannot imagine sharing a room at Sala Samui with a 15 year old son - or indeed any room but maybe you're closer than us! Anantara Lawana is north, north Chaweng and OK but certain you can do better as a three. Post a new thread with your budget and preferred family situation and I'm sure the forum will assist. People stress about areas but Samui is small and nowhere - except absolute central Chaweng - is too mad.
