Hotel Pools-Open to non Residents?

As a matter of interest I was wondering if any hotel pools in Skiathos, are open to the public (as long as you order food)?

Not for me just asking the question.

Many Thanks

I think most of them in Greece are, especially self catering places, unlike Spain where it's frowned upon.

You will have a fantastic pool at your accomodation and almost always all to yourself - most smaller places will allow especially if they have food/drinks available, I would think it would be polite to ask first, for example in Troulos two cousins next door to each other, Filia and Christakis (Christo and Chris) Filia no but Christakis yes, however Filia guests mainly go to Christakis??? I don’t know about the big big places like Kassandra as I’ve never fancied even looking in for a nosey about, all a bit too plastic and fenced in complex type of places don’t appeal to us.... after visiting mandraki, banana, eleni, Agistros etc you will forgot any thoughts about a pool but your accomodation is fab to have a dip when returning from a trek, perfect spot for some peace and tranquility......

Kassandra definitely do not. Most places do. Ask first to avoid embarrassment ...

Thank you all, I trust your responses may be appreciated.

The reason I asked the question was because last year we went to Zakynthos and stayed in self catering accommodation but no pool. We did find a lovely pool at a large hotel and we had food there daily with no problem.

But this year we have a pool!

Thanks again guys!

Hi Rouses

As others have said, it's generally more acceptable in Greece than in Spain, but it does depend on the accommodation in question. My understanding is that those who do welcome non-residents do so as a way to boost revenue because they make such little profit from the rooms sold via tour operators.

First went to Greece (lefkada) approximately 15 years ago,was told by the very knowledgeable local rep that it was illegal to turn anybody away who wants to use the pool, this law was introduced after a prolonged heatwave
