Is 2 hours between flight enough in oslo airport?

Is 2 hours between flight enough in oslo airport?

My destination is Reykjavik, Iceland.

I will arrive Gardermoen airport at 12.30pm

And i have to pass immigration and get my luggage and hurry to check-in for Icelandair's flight to Reykjavik which will depart at 14.45pm. The check-in is close 1 hour before departure.

Will it be possible for me to check-in and get on board in time?

How's the system at Gardermoen airport?

Thanks

Nomally 2 hours is enough. For any more precise answer to your question more info is needed. Where will you be arriving from, which airline, are you on a through ticket to Reykjavik ?

Where are you arriving from and on what airline?

It seems that you're travelling on separate tickets - a very risky move that can result in major financial loss.

Baggage reclaim can take 20 minutes or 45 minutes so you really have no time to spare and if you first flight is delayed a few minutes this can be enough to make you miss your flight and you would need to purchase a new ticket at the airport - this is very expensive.

And i will fly to Reykjavik via Icelandair. 14.45pm.

Thank you for your kind opinions.

If these are two separate tickets - i.e. your baggage won't be checked through - then you are taking a big risk. Flights are often 20-30 mins late. Check whether you have got travel insurance that will cover you for missed flights due to delays - unlikely with such a short connection, most require a minimum of an hour or two's delay before paying out.

You need to check the fine print on your travel insurance - see how much time you need between connections for insurance coverage.

How was your connection?

I was looking for a flight to Tromso, with connection in Oslo, I found something but the time between flights is 60 minutes only. I guess it's not enough, right? (it's the same ticket - Norwegian Airlines).

If it is on the same ticket you are covered in case of delays and the airline will put you on the next flight available. Flights between Oslo and Tromsø are not that frequent, so if you are arriving late in the day in Oslo, next flight might be the following day.

If Norwegian sell you that ticket as a connecting ticket rather than two point-to-point tickets then you are covered - better check their terms and conditions carefully.

It seems through tickets are only available for certain destinations and you need to pay extra to be covered. For all other options, a connection time of a minium of two hours is required for them to put you on the next flight in case of delays, and even then only under certain circumstances. In other words, it all depends.

Thank you!

Actually it's a flight Budapest-Tromso with 1 hour stop in Oslo.

We're looking forward to see an aurora borealis in February next year. Maybe if you have a better suggestion for this purpose, please advise. I can go anywere from Budapest as long as the prices are not high and distances not very big because we're traveling with our 2-years old son.

Thank you!
