Hay on Wye on a Sunday

We're visiting the area over a weekend in June, and from the accommodation we have booked it would make most sense to visit Hay on Wye on the Sunday.

From a quick look at the website it looks like a number of the shops are closed on Sundays, so can anyone please let me know if its worth visiting that day, or whether we would be better to try a different day

Many thanks

Hi HH

I would say that a majority of the shops are open on a Sunday, particularly in Summer, including most of the bookshops. They tend to close a bit earlier - 4 or 5pm from memory. If you are just looking for a wander around and a general browse you should be fine. If you want to ensure that all of the boutiques, delis etc are also open, then better to visit another day. Hope that helps.
