Visiting Durham castle

I'll be visiting Durham castle in September. Is there a walkable route from the train station to the Castle, or do i need to take the bus?

You walk downhill from the station then uphill to the castle.

You walk down Station Approach then take a footpath to your left which is a direct downhill route - https://goo.gl/maps/G5QJcA3bsaA2

it's not that far and is not a bad walk as long as (a) the weather is OK and (b) you don't mind a reasonably steep walk downhill and then again uphill

but there is a bus if you want

Hi. It's about 10 mins from the station and a nice easy walk and you can see cathedral from station. Head down bank from train station turn left down some steps. Walk over milburngate bridge them turn right, walk through market place and you are almost there
