ATV new bus schedule - No direct bus between Verona and Riva

The ATV summer bus schedules covering the eastern lake come into operation next Monday, 9th June and there are a few changes. There no longer appears to be a direct bus route between Verona and Riva del Garda. Bus No.184 travels between Garda and Riva, and bus No. 183 travels between Peschiera del Garda and Malcesine.

If you are travelling from Verona airport there is an hourly bus no.164 directly to Garda and the south of the lake. Anyone who intended travelling to Riva del Garda by bus from Verona are now unfortunately going to have change their plans.

There is no way of knowing exactly what bus timetables will be like next summer. The other alternative would be the bus Riva to Peschiera del Garda changing buses in Malcesine or Garda, whichever works best. The timetables are due to change early in June for the summer so you should be able to get a better idea then. We will post links to the new schedules when they are available.

Thanks. Knowing the alternatives helps. Choosing Riva as a base suits the activities we are after, it just seemed a bit awkward getting back to Milan with bus/ train, but the various bus options look reasonable.

There is actually another alternative. Bus to Rovereto, this is the current timetable

gardatrentino.it/en/…

Then train to Verona where you would have more choice of trains to Milan.

That looks like a good option too. Thanks. Always reassuring to have a couple of choices. :)

Has anyone any idea of the bus fares. I am travelling to Castelletto di Brenzone for the first time so I am assuming that I will change from the 164 to the 184 at Garda station. How does the bus fare compare to taxi fare? Thanks, Bill

Hi, the bus will cost €5.20 but will be 80 cents more if purchased from the bus driver.

A taxi would be in the region of €100.

Are you travelling from the airport or from Verona city centre? You will probably have to change buses in Garda but if you look at the notes on the timetable for the 164 you will see that two of the buses (with C107 at the top of the columns) continue to Riva.

Have you asked your hotel if they offer airport transfers?
