Trip to Forli and Padua in May2013

I'm planning to do a pilgrimage trip to Forli, Italy to visit St Peregine. I live in the States and plan to fly to Venice. How do I get to Forli from Venice. Can it be done by bus or Train? Also, I would like to go to Padua, how long is it from Venice to Padua? I would greatly appreciately any insights you can provide regarding these trips.

Hi!

Yes you can go to Forli by train from Venice.

You can also go to Padova by train- it's a 30min journey then continue on to Forlì with a change in Bologna - about 2 hrs.

Bye :)

Girella, It looks like there are 2 train stations in Venice. Since I'll be arriving at Marco Polo Intl airport, which train station (Mestre or Sta Lucia ) is closest to the airport? Which one takes me to Forli? Also, what is the name of the Forli train station? I'll be staying at a hotel in the city center in Forli, which describes its accessbility by walking less than 10 mins from the train station. I would greatly appreciate if you can provide any insight.

If you are going to take a train after arriving at Marco Polo airport, take a bus to Mestre station on the mainland. The bus stops right outside Mestre station, but cannot get close to Santa Lucia station in Venice.

The train station in Forli is called Forli.

The best station is Mestre as the trains start off from S.Lucia and the first stop is Mestre so going to' S.Lucia besides being difficult to' get to would make your journey slot fly longer. Some trains start from Mestre.

There's only one station in Forlì.

Bye :)
