Bike or scooter rental near Gualdo

I'm spending a week in Gualdo di Macerata this July. My friends and I would love to rent bikes or scooters - I have the proper motorcycle driver's license, for the USA at least. Any recommendations for either type of rental in the area? We'll have a car so we can drive to the shop, even if it's at a distance.

Thank you.

Gualdo di Macerata is way out in the middle of nowhere. I don't think you'll find a place anywhere near it to rent a motorcycle or scooter. I looked in the Yellow Pages and the only places I saw were on the coast, and some of those didn't actually rent, only sell.

You need an International Driver's Permit, which is an official translation of your driver's license, to drive any sort of motorized vehicle in Italy. You can get these at AAA in the US, even if you're not a member. If you bring along two passport photos, it will be cheaper, but it's not expensive anyway.

Thanks very much for the tip. Looks like I'll be renting a car out of Rome and dreaming of scooters instead of actually riding them. Is it important to really buy an international driver's license for a one week trip? If figured I could use my New York driver's license and a passport.

Thanks!
