looking to go to Mayanabo mid November

Hey there all TA regulars!

Looking to go to Mayanabo for the forth time in mid november.

I'm clear on the issue that the hotel is in fine shape after Irma.

I am an avid fisherman and I usually go fishing (deep sea and shore) almost daily.

Do you know if the deep sea fishing tour still going? Cannot seem to get that issue cleared up

and it is of primary concern for me. No response from Hotel . If someone would have an up to date contact at hotel would be great.

Secondly I usually go to the Luna Mar restaurant (3-4 times) and maybe the Mar Verde (1-2 times) (off resort in both cases) Are they open? does anyone know?

If They aren't ...it isn't a deal breaker for me. But basically, I'm wondering how the town faired through Irma. Was it just water/flooding (that is what I experience when I was there during Hurricane Sandy) or was there more damage with roofs blown off, etc?

Any help would be appreciated!

Pat

I have friends at Mayanabo right now. The town is fine. One of the workers at the hotel lost his home and he and his family are staying with other family. They are waiting to hear if the government will put them up in an apartment or rebuild. It sounds like they don't want to rebuild near the beach and eventually will be moving more inland. I haven't heard about Luna Mar or Mar Verde which to me would indicate they faired well. Ill send a message and ask,

be sure to give us a review and heads up when you get back. carol e. and visit all the resorts and say hello to all our friends. sanchez and lisette at the beach bar at caracol, yanellis and reynaldo plus yurina at el roc, and annia at brisas. you may even get a lunch or dinner there if you ask nicely. carol e. and hugs to all the boat house guys who do the little cats sailing trip. many of them have worked mayanabo over the years.
