Collective and lunch Question

Can someone describe the process of taking the collective from Valentin Imperial Maya to PM and back. Also, what would be your suggestions for casual lunch dining in PM (preferably near the beach with a view of the water). We plan on coming to town to shop and would like to have lunch while there. Anything else we should know about PM or see while we are there? Thanks!

Colectivos run on the highway between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, so walk out to the highway and wait on the appropriate side of the road. When you see a colectivo approaching, wave at it and if it's not full, it will stop. Get on, say your destination and pay when you get off (should be 20 pesos for that distance.

The colectivo will stop at or near the junction of the highway and the road to the beach. You can continue to the beach by taxi.

On the way back, cross to the west side of the highway to wait for the colectivo. Say your destination and pay when you get off.

Adding to the good information provided by MisterB266, for the return trip leaving from PM, the collectivos now stop in front of the Chedraui grocery store on northwest side of the round-about.
