1. Re: From Akaroa To Christchurch

Christchurch to Akaroa is about 1.5 hours. Christchurch to Tekapo is about 3.5 hours. Christchurch is between Akaroa and Tekapo.

A good website for calculating travel time is www.aatravel.co.nz/main/td-calculator.php.

The correct, full name is Aoraki MT Cook. Locals tend to call the Mountain "Aoraki" or sometimes "Cook". (Cloud piercer)

From Akaroa you do not need to come all the way back into Christchurch. There is a road to Darfield that will shave a bit of time off. An hour and a half from Christchurch to Akaroa would include time for coffee and cheesecake in Little River. If it is a fine Sunday watch out for low flying motor bikes on the twisty bit from Little River to Akaroa. If it's this weekend watch out for the old guy towing the caravan. (me)
