How much time , a route, and the cost to
Take ferry from waiheke and the need to get to Auckland airport
Are you on the car ferry or Fullers to CBD.? Will you have a car?
If using Fullers to the CBD, 40 minute ferry ride, plus a few minutes to board and leave the ferry terminal.
Then either the Sky Bus to the airport (about an hour +/- traffic), tickets from $17(NZD) or taxi which can be as high as $80 - $100(NZD) depending on time of day / traffic.
Quickest way is the Fullers passenger ferry from Matiatia harbour on Waiheke to the Ferry Building on Quay Street. Takes about 35 minutes as mentioned, very quick unloading, and then a short walk around to Customs Street for the Skybus which is every 10 minutes in peak daytime.
Fullers run every half hour in peak daytime, and are patchy after 6pm til midnight. Sailings are hourly in winter daytime. My husband used Uber from the Ferry Building to the airport in June. Cost $43.00 and the driver arrived within 5 minutes of his call. There are taxis circulating around The Cloud next to the Devonport ferry on Pier 1. Waiheke ferries arrive on Pier 2. Ferry staff will point the way to a taxi/Uber pickup/Customs St for Skybus.
Lots of taxis on Waiheke to get you to the Matiatia terminal, or your host may offer guest transfers?
Thanks for the info
