Apache Junction and/or Tortilla Flat

We have a morning tee time at Gold Canyon Golf Resort in a couple of weeks. We would like to see a little of that area of AZ after golf. Would you recommend us stopping in Apache Junction and/or Tortilla Flat? We are thinking about eating dinner at The Dutchman's Hide Out. Any suggestions/advice?

Definitely take the scenic drive from Apache Junction to Tortilla Flat and back. As for food, I'd go with the reviews. I had one of the worst hamburgers in my life at Tortilla Flat. Never been to Dutchmen's Hideout AKA Mining Camp Restaurant.

We like Tortilla Flat and often take out of town visitors there. Fun place - very funky inside. I've always enjoyed the food there. Certainly not high end but very decent. Some of our family and friends have had the burgers and heard no complaints. Keep meaning to try Mining Camp as a couple of our friends love it.
