What are the best options to get 6 people from BC to Placencia? 2 of the people are under 6 years old.
Transfer service is a good choice.
Here are some transfer services that have had positive comments on the forum...
a) Discounted Belize Shuttles and Tours,
b) William’s Belize Shuttle,
c) Mayan Heart World http://www.mayanheartworld.net/index.html
d) Teddy Bear Shuttle, http://www.teddybearshuttle.com/
e) Danielia’s Shuttle, http://www.danieliasshuttle.com/
f) Placencia Resort Airport Shuttle Service,
Your other options are: flight, car rental, bus and taxi. I think transfer service is the best choice.Edited: 12 January 2018, 11:56
Thanks for the quick response. Is the bus a reasonable option? Any idea what the cost?
If you want to go by bus, first get a taxi from the airport to the bus terminal in BC. That costs BZ$50 per taxi, and with 6 people you might need 2 taxis unless you can get a taxi van. That trip is about 20 minutes.
Buses that go directly to Placencia are not frequent. You can view bus schedules & information on these websites...
You might have to change buses. Overall fare is about BZ$20 (US$10) per person.
Note that the James Bus Line buses go to Independence, not Placencia, and you have to get a small ferry called the Hokey Pokey from Independence to Placencia.
While cheap, the bus might be too much of a hassle, and they are old school buses, so not very comfortable for a trip of about 4 hours.Edited: 12 January 2018, 22:59
