Shandrani or Victoria

We are going to Mauritius for the first time in April 2018. We were originally swaying towards the Victoria (cheaper of the 2) but are now wondering whether the Shandrani has a little more to offer. We have 2 children aged 9 and 7 who love swimming in pools (not so fussed on sea) and who would be keen to make friends whilst we are there. We also like good food and some family friendly evening entertainment. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. Shandrani has the beast AI in Mauritius plus 3 beaches. Evening entertainement was a let down for us.

I havent been to be Le Victoria. But i know lots of families who has been and their kids all loved it

We've stayed at Victoria (without kids) and totally loved it. It's very family orientated. Haven't stayed at Shandrani but it also looks great. Most Beachcomber resorts have good if low key evening entertainment. Usually a dance show of some sort followed by a live band or DJ.

Stayed at Shandrani and visited Victoria.

You cant beat Shandrani for AI package. It also has 3 beaches.

Evening entertainment was cabaret similar to most hotels in Mauritius but very well professional.

Hi

We have stopped at the Shan drain and really enjoyed it.

The AI was really good and the beaches are excellent.

We too are going to Mauritius in easter 2018.

We considered shandrani but it's a lot more expensive than victoria and we couldn't justify the difference.

This will be our 3rd visit to le Victoria - we absolutely love it and it does have a very good all inclusive package.

Our children will be 10 & 12 when we go but we're the same age as your two the first time we went and they absolutely loved it

Victoria, we had the wedding there and it was fascinating. I think this is not like 4 star, more like 5 star or 4.5. For this money (and at the west) it’s without competition.

Thank you, that's reassuring as we did go with the Victoria in the end. The Shandrani was only coming up around £500 more which made the choice hard but all of the comments re the Victoria were particularly good.
