Getting to Amphawa and back to Train Station to Hua Hin

Can anyone please advise the best/quickest way to get to Amphawa for floating market. We are planning on staying overnight and then need to catch a train south to Hua Hin the next day.

Maybe someone could recommend a private driver to take us to Amphawa from Bangkok.

Thanks

I can't recommend a driver, but you can take a van from Victory Monument to Maeklong (90 minutes, 70 baht) and then a songthaew to Amphawa (10 minutes, 8 baht).

Take Exit 4 out of the BTS Skytrain onto the Skywalk, cross Ratchawithi and Pahon Yothin Roads and descend to street level. You'll find the van station under the elevated Expressway. http://flic.kr/p/9cq4dM

I think you can pick up your train the next day in Ratchaburi. I'm not sure, but there must be vans leaving Maeklong for Ratchaburi. If not, there's a government bus for sure. Ask in Amphawa at your homestay. They'll set you straight.

In Ratchaburi, you can also take a bus to Hua Hin, which may be a good deal faster and more convenient than the train.
