Never forget that every now and then people do die from this procedure. It is not like going to a hairdresser and just going home.
Read up on this as much as you can and know the risks. Talk to trusted doctors back home.
Good luck.
...oh pls, it's very much like going to a hairdresser these days and not as solemn and serious as you're making it out to be.
My ex is testament to this, as are a few other girls I know who almost annually go for procedures like this and are unfortunately still very much alive and griefing everyone they meet.
At worst, it's a pre-op consult to assess the damage, then the procedure day, it's all day surgery and depending on how much lard they need to remove it's over in a few hours. They'll give the patient a corset (if it's abdo/thighs - or compression garment if it's for lunch lady arms), and some perhaps some pain meds plus some after care info... it's really a benign procedure in the scheme of things. If you've ever set foot in an ED in Cape Town or similar...
Everything has an inherent risk, besides, all the nay saying in the world isn't going to stop her undergoing the procedure if she's fat and desperate to lose weight. Personally, I'd advocate 80% diet and 20% exercise, but most people won't listen to that because it's not a pill or procedure, nor is it endorsed by some celebrity. And, heaven forbid anyone actually do a bit of work to achieve anything.
With all that said, I can also only suggest Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, or do some google searches, or use whatever search engines the Chinese government aren't censoring this week.
OP may have already had procedure but I'm posting anyway... someone dear to me had lipectomy in Pattaya recently, they are now dead. I will not reveal clinic's name as I'm not 100% sure yet they were at fault. My words of warning...
1, Unfortunately these procedures are treated as a walk in, walk out like a hairdressers but please be aware they are invasive procedures.
2. Please, please, please make sure you have comprehensive medical insurance and/or enough money to cover any medical intervention that may be needed, no less than 10000GBP. CRUCIALLY make sure you can prove all of the above. 2 well-known hospitals in Pattaya would not give life saving treatment to my loved one despite having the money available, but was too weak to leave clinic and obtain proof. In effect they watched him die.
3. Research, research, research. Ask the dr what they will do in any given scenario and what you will be expected to pay.
4. Don't penny pinch. Pay extra and stay in overnight.
I am not stupid enough to think my experience is common, only proof that things do go wrong and you must be aware of that.
Good luck
Any invasive and unnecessary medical procedure ought to be carefully considered and thoroughly researched, particularly if undertaken away from your home country. Apart from the very clear and obvious risks, I would doubt that any travel insurance would provide cover.
Calexa, I'm really sorry to hear of your loss. The whole situation must have been devastating.
